Math POW - In-class - due Friday, Jan. 10th


A hummingbird's little wings beat an average of 20 to 25 times per second.  During some of their dives their wings may beat up to 200 times per second.  If a hummingbird was beating its wings at an average speed (using the top end of the scale) how many times would there wings beat in:

a) one minute
b) five minutes
c) one hour
d) half a day

Show your work and do not use a calculator.
