Doodling in Math Class - Triangles

Watch the above video clip.  Try doodling some of the same triangle shapes that Vihart draws.
Tell me everything you know about triangles.  (Post your answers.)

  1. ~All the angles in a triangle equal 180 degrees
~On an equilateral triangle, all of the angles measure the same (therefore 60 degrees) and all of the sides are the same length
~On an isosceles triangle, two sides are the same length and two angles equal each other
~A scalene triangle has no equal sides or angles
~A triangle has three sides and three angles
~To get the area of triangle, you multiply 1/2 by the base by the height

  2. Also:
~A right triangle has one right angle
~An obtuse triangle has one obtuse angle
~On an acute triangle, all three angles are acute

  3. -The sum of the three angles in a triangle always will add up to 180 degrees regardless the type of the triangle
-An isosceles triangle has two angles with the same length and angle and one is different from the other 2.
-A scalene triangle has no equal sides and no equal angles, they are all different.
-An equilateral triangle has all equal sides and all equal angles. Each angle is 60 degrees in an equilateral triangle.
-A triangle has three sides and angles.
-Some triangles are found in 3-D shapes for the sides.
-Acute triangles have all angles acute
-A right angle has one right angle only.
-Obtuse triangles have one obtuse angle.
-The area of a triangle can be calculated by the following formula:
A= 1/2 × B ×H where as A= area of the triangle, B=Base of the triangle, and H= Height of the triangle.
